My BBQ

As you can tell, I ran out of propane last autumn. The missing control is for an outboard wok burner that broke off last winter due to heavy snow.

My Spice Rack

No doubt, the size of my rack is one of the reasons why my wife married me.

Visit to an abandoned gold mine

Sorry, but I cannot tell anyone exactly where this is or the owners would likely close off the entrances for insurance liability reasons.

Sudbury is a One-Arch Town

When take-out french fries were a novelty, many fast food places would give out disposable tongs to keep the hands of the diners clean. Some would put up a stylized arch to advertise the availability of french fries.

During the 1950's & 60s, McDonalds successfully copyrighted the symbol to prevent other restaurants from using it. They did so except in Sudbury, Ontario, where Deluxe had beat them to it. Other than McDonald's, here are the only restaurants in the free world with a stylized arch.

In both locations, McDonald's has provocatively installed a restaurant on the other side of the road. In the first picture, the dinky McDonald's arches can be seen framed by their prototype.
